Rav Rokeach, the 4th Rebbe of the Belz Hassidic dynasty, was born in 1880 in Belz, Poland.
He escaped the Nazis together with his half-brother, arriving in Eretz Yisroel in 1944, but lost his wife and children in the holocaust.
After the passing of his half-brother he raised his young nephew – the current Belz Rebbe – Rav Yissochor Dov Rokeach until his own passing.
He worked to rebuild Belz Chassidus creating a court and yeshivos Eretz Yisroel.
Although he suffered tremendously having lost his entire immediate family to the Nazis; he never spoke about any of them – feeling that they were of transcendent holiness and any talk of them and their lives would only diminish their memory.
