Rav Joseph Ber Soloveitchik (רב יוסף דב הלוי סולובייצ׳יק) was a major American Orthodox rabbi, Talmudist, and modern Jewish philosopher.

He was a scion of the Lithuanian Jewish Soloveitchik rabbinic dynasty and a close friend of the Lubavich Rebbe.

Rav Joseph Ber Soloveitchik (רב יוסף דב סולובייצ’יק) was born in 1903 in Pruzhany, Belarus.

He founded the first Jewish day school in Boston in 1937, and later became the head of RIETS Rabbinical School at Yeshiva University, a position he held until his passing in 1993

He is considered to be one of the leaders of the “Torah uMadda” philosophy and is known for his work “The Halachic Man”.
