Rav Abba Shaul founded the Emes VeShalom Yeshiva for the study of Kabbolla, and was known for helping to launch a religious revival among Sefardi Jews in Eretz Yisroel. He authored thousands of halachik response – many of them found in his sefer She’eilot uTshuvot Ohr LeZion.

Rav Ben-Tzion Abba Shaul (רב בן-ציון אבא שאול) was born in Yerushalayim in 1924.
He learned in Yeshivat Porat Yosef from the age of 11 together with Rav Ovadia Yosef and gave shiurim there for many years. He eventually became the Rosh Yeshiva in 1983.
In the 1960’s he founded the Emes VeShalom Yeshiva for the study of Kabbolla, and was known for helping to launch a religious revival among Sefardi Jews in Eretz Yisroel. He authored thousands of halachik response – many of them found in his sefer She’eilot uTshuvot Ohr LeZion.
He passed away in 1998.
