He was born in January 26, 1838  and died in September 15, 1933, never realizing his desire to move to Petch Tikva close to the Chazon Ish in Eretz Yisroel.

He was an influential rabbi of the Musar movement, a posek, and ethicist whose works continue to be widely influential in Jewish life.
